Chihiro Art Museum Tokyo

An art museum established in 1977 to commemorate Chihiro Iwasaki (1918-1974) , a Japanese artist renowned for her paintings and illustrations of flowers and children.
Chihiro lived and worked in Shimo-Shakujii for 22 years from 1952 until her death in 1974, and left over 9,500 pieces of artwork.
In the museum, there are 4 exhibit rooms, restored Chihiro's Atelier, Picture Book Library and Children's Play Room. Here visitors can enjoy viewing the art of Chihiro Iwasaki as well as the International Collection of picture book illustrators from all over the world.

Rate 800 yen for adults, free for high school students and younger, as well as visually impaired.
Business hours 10:00-17:00 (last admission time 16:30)
Regular holiday Mondays. Open if a national holiday falls on Monday, closed the following day instead.
Also closed over year-end and New Year's holidays (Dec.28-Jan.1) , during the month of February, and temporarily every two months during exhibition rotations.
